How to setup Simplicity Studio 5 and PC Controller 5

Previously known as Zensys Tools 5, you can use PC Controller 5 as diagnostic, debug, and testing tool for any Z-Wave product. While a rudimentary piece of software, PC Controller 5 will expose elements of how your Z-Wave network is communicating, and let you control and test specific functions of any Z-Wave product on the network, that other software typically does not.

  1. Create a free account with Silicon Labs.
  2. Silicon Labs will send an email to confirm and activate your account; follow the steps emailed to your chosen email address.
  3. Login to your Silicon Labs' account if not automatically logged in.

  10. Click on 'Install by technology type (wireless, Xpress, MCU, sensors)'.
  11. Click the '32-bit and Wireless MCU' checkbox.
  12. Click 'Next'.
  13. Select 'Auto'.
  14. Click 'Next'.
  15. Restart Simplicity Studio when prompted by clicking 'OK'.
